Come, See, Share | John 4:27–42 & Psalm 63
The Samaritan woman didn’t have a polished story or a platform. She had a well, a conversation, and a Savior who saw her—and it changed everything.
In this episode, we see how her testimony becomes the first evangelism in John’s Gospel: “Come and see.” Not because she had all the answers, but because she met the Answer. Jesus seeks, Jesus speaks, Jesus satisfies—and then He sends.
Psalm 63 echoes the same longing: “My soul thirsts for You… Your love is better than life.” It’s a reminder that Jesus meets us in the wilderness places—and it’s often there He calls us to go and tell.
Did You Know?
The Samaritan woman is the first person Jesus explicitly tells He is the Messiah—and she becomes the spark for many others to believe.

Scripture Reading
“Come see a man who has told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?”
(John 4:27–30; Psalm 63:1–5)
Introduction
Howdy everyone, and Happy Friday. Welcome back to the Waypoint Devotional Podcast. Whatever time of day you’re listening to this, we hope your day is blessed and that you’re tuned into the love God has for you. God’s presence never leaves, but in the rush of the modern day to day, it can be easy to lose track of our relationship to the presence of God.
However, once we are aware of that, we can pause our hearts and direct our spirit to come back home. Take a moment to slow down, take a few deep breaths, and tune back into God’s grace.
Today, the devotional will be around the Psalms as we continue our journey through the Gospel of John, which you can read along with, if you’d like, on the Church Center app. Let’s get into it.
Scripture Reading (Full)
“Just then his disciples returned and were surprised to find him talking with a woman. But no one asked, ‘What do you want?’ or ‘Why were you talking with her?’ Then, leaving her water jar, the woman went back to the town and said to the people, ‘Come see a man who has told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?’ They came out of the town and made their way toward him.”
“You, God, are my God; earnestly I seek you. I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.”
Reflection
She didn’t have a seminary degree or a cleaned-up story. She had a well, a conversation, and a Savior who saw her fully and still stayed. And it changed everything.
The Samaritan woman became the first evangelist in John’s Gospel. No stage. No microphone. Just testimony. Just joy. “Come and see,” she said—not because she had all the answers, but because she met the Answer.
As the final scene of this week and Part One of this series, we see the full arc: Jesus seeks. Jesus speaks. Jesus satisfies. And then He sends.
Psalm 63 echoes that same desire: “My soul thirsts for you… your love is better than life.” It is a song sung in the wilderness, not in the sanctuary—just like the woman’s story unfolded outside the temple in an unlikely place. That’s where Jesus meets us. And that’s where He uses us.
Closing Question
Who needs to hear me say, Come and see?
Prayer
Jesus, thank you for seeing me, saving me, and sending me. Let my life say, “Come and see.” Amen.
