“May the Lord bless you and keep you — and may His presence guide you this week.”
[Intro Scripture Reading]
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him, in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things have been created through him and for him.”— Colossians 1:15-16
[Host Welcome]
Howdy everyone, and welcome back to the Waypoint Devotional Podcast. Whatever time of day you’re listening, we hope your day is blessed and that you’re tuned in to the love God has for you.
God’s presence never leaves us—but in the rush of daily life, it can be easy to lose track of our awareness of Him. Once we become aware of that drift, we can pause, quiet our hearts, and realign our spirits with His presence.
Take this moment to slow down.
Take a few deep breaths.
And tune back into God’s grace.
[Scripture Focus]
Today’s devotional centers on a passage supporting our journey through the Gospel of John. You can follow along with the reading plan in the Church Center app.
We’ll be reading from Colossians 1:15-20:
“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For everything was created by him in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and by him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile everything to himself, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.”
[Reflection]
If someone asked you what your life revolves around, how would you answer?
For many of us, that answer changes depending on the season—school, work, family, stress, goals, or aspirations. But Paul reminds us that the true center of everything—not just our lives but the entire universe—is Jesus.
Not only did He create all things, but He also sustains them.
He is the image of the invisible God—the one who reconciles all things to Himself.
That includes you.
You weren’t made to carry everything alone.
You were made to be held together by God.
[Closing Question & Prayer]
As we close, reflect on this question:
What have you put at the center of your life that belongs in Jesus’ hands?
Prayer:
“Jesus, center my heart on You again and hold together what I cannot.”
Amen.
